A new tool will help Iowans figure out the influence of campaign money on state-level elections and public policy. The Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board last week launched an online, searchable campaign finance database, a vast improvement over a previous online system that did not offer a viable search option. Until now, Iowa has had one of the weakest campaign disclosure programs, graded a D+ by the Campaign Disclosure Project.
