The Environmental Protection Agency plans to spend $8.5 million on Lotus Development Corp.'s Notes groupware product during the next five years. As part of the deal which Lotus announced two weeks ago EPA expects to buy licenses for more than 18 000 Notes clients. EPA is expanding its use of Notes
The Environmental Protection Agency plans to spend $8.5 million on Lotus Development Corp.'s Notes groupware product during the next five years.
As part of the deal which Lotus announced two weeks ago EPA expects to buy licenses for more than 18 000 Notes clients. EPA is expanding its use of Notes to support agencywide administrative applications. Paul Wohlleben EPA's director of information resources management said the agency is writing several workflow applications for the Notes platform.
"What we're doing [is] to reduce costs of doing business is on the front end where you have all the paper flowing around " Wohlleben said.
The agency also will use Notes for applications that involve communications between EPA and the public.
