The Peace Corps has awarded a $16.9 million task order for desktop and network outsourcing services to Federal Data Corp.

The Peace Corps has awarded a $16.9 million task order for desktop and network

outsourcing services to Federal Data Corp.

The contract, awarded last week under the General Services Administration's

Seat Management contract, will provide services to 885 users over five years.

FDC will manage and maintain the Peace Corps' full network and desktop environment,

which includes Apple Computer Inc. and Microsoft Corp. Windows-based systems.

The Peace Corps is the fifth agency to award a task order under the $9 billion

Seat Management contract. Other agencies include GSA, the Treasury Department

headquarters offices, the Department of Housing and Urban Development's

Office of the Inspector General, and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

Special Operations Forces Program Management Office.
