eFederal wins place on GSA schedule

Business-to-government e-procurement company eFederal Systems Inc. announced

today that its products will be available on the General Services Administration's

Federal Supply Service schedule for IT products and professional services.

The GSA schedule agreement allows for federal government agencies; quasi-agencies;

prime and sub contractors; charitable organizations; international agencies;

and state and local governments to purchase items from eFederal's catalog

of computer and office products, said Dewey Carr, director of government

solutions for the Washington, D.C.-based company.

"eFederal is different from a lot of what's on the GSA schedule with

most contracts covering specific digital marketplaces. But we're truly a

b-to-g that offers the whole enchilada," Carr said. "We're not only a digital

marketplace for IT products and office products, but we solve e-commerce

issues for federal, state and local governments who don't have a solution

yet."

The company has been working to get on the GSA schedule for a few months,

and it has been one of Carr's main priorities since joining eFederal in

October, he said.

Carr said the company's main thrust is developing e-procurement solutions

and is already in talks with defense and civilian agencies interested in

eFederal solutions. He anticipates eFederal's "first, big contract win"

to come in the first part of 2001.
