GTSI.com extends order tracking

Federal workers who order information technology products from GTSI.com can now track their orders all the way to delivery and share and compare pricing information online.

IT reseller GTSI Corp. announced today at the FOSE trade show in Washington, D.C, that it has added purchase order authorization and interactive quote tracking to GTSI.com. With the new features, customers can verify their orders' status at any time and link to the tracking information on a commercial shipper's Web site.

The additions also enable customers to share contract quotes electronically with authorized parties and authorize a GTSI.com quote using purchase order or blanket purchase agreement numbers, a GTSI spokeswoman said.

For instance, at the bottom of each contract price quote, the "e-mail quote" feature offers each recipient direct access to the originator's quote. Any changes made to the quote are recorded through GTSI.com. The GTSI.com site features:

More than 50 different government contracts that allow cross-contract shopping. GTSI Express, offering products that can be rapidly delivered. A Government Employee Purchase Program open to employees of government organizations and their extended family with specially priced products for personal use. More than 20 different manufacturer-sponsored subwebs for vendor partners. Real-time order status so that customers can verify and track any GTSI order's status from the time it reaches GTSI to the time it is delivered. GTSI announced Tuesday at FOSE that it has signed an agreement to resell Ricoh Silicon Valley Inc.'s eCabinet product in the federal market through the NASA Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement II and National Institutes of Health Electronic Computer Store contracts.

The eCabinet product automatically captures, digitally files, indexes and retrieves office documents such as e-mails, faxes, copies, printouts and Web content. The product should contribute to knowledge management initiatives to give federal workers access to information throughout an agency and improve response to Freedom of Information Act requests, according to the companies.
