Partners bring surplus sales to feds

PlanetGov and Liquidation.com team to bring surplus goods to publicsector customers

The last time PlanetGov and Liquidation.com Inc. were in the news, they were announcing staff cuts in December and January, respectively.

But on Wednesday the news was better, as the duo announced a partnership that will bring Liquidation.com's surplus network to PlanetGov's public-sector customers.

PlanetGov provides e-commerce solutions and content to the government and military communities. Liquidation.com has experience selling surplus assets — ranging from paper to diesel trucks — for the public sector and has completed sales for the states of Georgia, South Carolina and other government entities.

The partnership expands the reach of Liquidation.com's governmental and other listings, while providing PlanetGov with another offering for its users, said Steve Baldwin, chief executive officer and president of PlanetGov.

The partnership will begin with the development of a PlanetGov surplus storefront that will be launched early next month, according to a release.

More than $500 million worth of business and government surplus goods are listed on the Liquidation.com exchange, which includes 27 categories and more than 100,000 qualified buyers in 107 countries.

The Liquidation.com surplus storefront program is an opportunity for PlanetGov to offer surplus goods to its government users while gaining an additional revenue stream with minimal upfront costs, said Bill Angrick, chairman and CEO of Liquidation.com.
