QuadraMed added to GSA schedule
Contract gives VHA facilities more options for buying IT products and services
Veterans Health Administration hospitals and other federal health care facilities have the option to purchase information technology solutions from QuadraMed Corp. following Tuesday's announcement that the company has been awarded a General Services Administration schedule contract.
The addition to the GSA schedule will enable government buyers to bypass creating requests for proposals to procure QuadraMed's products and services, which include coding and abstracting, chart management, and patient index analysis. The company offers software, Web-enabled solutions and professional consulting services that enable hospitals and providers to manage their delivery of health care.
Federal regulations require VHA facilities to purchase IT products only from companies with GSA schedule contracts.
Mike Wilstead, president of the health information management division of QuadraMed, said he was excited about the opportunity to offer more of its 100-plus products to VHA facilities.
