DEA picks PEC for intranet work
Contract wins are latest for PEC Solutions on the agency's Firebird intranet
The Drug Enforcement Administration has selected PEC Solutions Inc. to spearhead its Firebird intranet.
The DEA awarded two contracts, valued at $75 million, for engineering and operational support services, the company said.
Firebird is the DEA's office automation network. The intranet provides users with a standard suite of office tools and gives them use of mainframe applications such as administrative, intelligence and case management systems. It lets users automate the investigative reporting process, share case information and perform analysis and administrative activities.
Under the first contract, PEC will work with the DEA on standardization and stabilization engineering and integration support services. The company said that these services will help resolve integration issues as Firebird migrates to a more open and standardized environment.
The second contract covers operational support for DEA networking.
These are the latest contracts for PEC, which has been working on the project for several years.
