ATF extends seat management

The Treasury Department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms announced Aug. 6 that it has awarded a blanket purchase agreement that extends its seat management services with Unisys Corp.

The 6,000 ATF seats covered by the deal makes it one of the larger seat management projects in the federal government. ATF awarded Unisys the first seat management contract in the federal government in 1997, and the current deal continues the company's presence at the agency until 2004, according to Unisys.

Under the agreement, Unisys will continue to provide ATF with services that include:

* Infrastructure support.

* Help-desk support.

* Installation.

* Asset management.

* Asset tracking.

* Centralized and remote terminal management.

* Special operations support.

The contract has a potential value of up to $60 million.

Unisys also will continue to provide network management, training, maintenance and support services to ATF offices.
