Federal Supply Service awards four task orders for network and telecom support over 10 years
Computer Sciences Corp. announced Oct. 23 that it has won four task orders from the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Service to provide network and telecommunications support for the service during the next 10 years.
The task orders cover $63 million in work, if the service renews the contracts for all the option years. In addition to supporting the existing infrastructure — including the local-area network, the service's help desk, and its voice and data networks — CSC will also maintain and upgrade FSS' personal systems, according to the announcement.
FSS has awarded several maintenance and support contracts during the past three months, including two in September to support enhancements on such governmentwide applications as the GSA Advantage online procurement system.
The service's most recent desktop support contract was to expire at the end of September. The GSA chief information officer has been working with FSS to determine whether the other new contracts could have been used to support desktop and network support needs across the agency.
