Connections worth up to $35 billion
GSA releases a final solicitation for its governmentwide telecom and networking contract
The General Services Administration on Dec. 16 released a final solicitation for its governmentwide telecommunications and networking contract, which could be worth as much as $35 billion.
The Connections contract will combine an array of telecommunications and network services and equipment currently offered through a mix of contracts managed by GSA's Federal Technology Service (FTS).
Proposed offerings include Webmaster services, billing and account management, wireless equipment and the development of applications that bring together voice and data communications. Technical problems at GSA Dec. 17 prevented the download of the request for proposals for confirmation of services offered.
The maximum ceiling of the multiple-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is $35 billion, according to GSA. Connections has a base of three years and five one-year renewal options.
FTS plans to make an award in May 2002 for solutions provided nationally. It will make other awards for international solutions in July 2002 and for solutions provided in specific states between November 2002 and January 2003.
