Database tracks GWAC details

Federal agencies must submit information on multiple-agency contracting vehicles to a centralized database

Federal agencies must submit information on multiple-agency contracting vehicles, including governmentwide acquisition contracts and General Services Administration schedules, to a centralized database. A final rule published last week amends an earlier proposal, listing 17 items of required information and requiring more of the data to be searchable.

The database will allow agency officials to quickly research contracts and identify contractors involved. Agencies have until Oct. 31 to input data about existing contracts, with the exception of those that will expire before June 1, 2004. Agencies will have 10 days from the date of award to file the information.
