CDC hires Orkand for tech support
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention awarded a contract to Orkand Corporation for continued support for the agency's health statistics division.
Orkand Corp. will keep providing tech support for the health statistics division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
CDC's National Center for Health Statistics awarded a $10.4 million contract to the Falls Church, Va.-based company to provide information technology support and services to the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES). The contract includes a one-year base period and four option years.
The NCHS compiles statistical information to guide health policies.
Orkand has been working with the NHANES since 1992. The contract announced this week extends work Orkand began in 2001, and includes support for:
* Statistical systems and applications.
* Field data collection.
* Data analysis and dissemination through Web publishing.
* Research in statistical and survey methodology.
* Data processing.
* Database administration.
* Systems architecture design.
