The Federal Housing Finance Board (FHFB) will move its data operations and hand over the reins for its technology management services.
The independent agency awarded a six-year, $9.1 million contract for managed information technology infrastructure services to Advanced Technology Systems (ATS) Inc. The company will manage the housing board's phased transition of IT operations to a Verio Inc. facility in Sterling, Va. ATS also will lead the modernization of the agency's workstations and equipment.
Verio is a subsidiary of NTT Communications Corp. ATS will also be partnering with TFE Technology, a hardware maintenance provider, on the project.
The board has been managing its tech operations through five contracts from its headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is now outsourcing 100 percent of its tech operations.
The board is an independent agency that regulates the Federal Housing Loan Banks, which supply funds to local lenders to finance loans for home mortgages.
"By delivering improved services more efficiently at a significant cost savings, ATS will be helping FHFB ensure the safe operation of the country's mortgage industry," said Pete Spewak, ATS' senior vice president of business development.
