CSC rakes in more BPA bucks than expected

The company has more than doubled its original estimate for the value of a blanket purchase agreement with an unidentified intelligence customer.

A blanket purchase agreement with an unidentified intelligence community customer has proven more lucrative for Computer Sciences Corp. than the company first predicted.

After receiving eight task orders that showed the purchase agreement was going to bring in far more revenue than expected, the company this week raised its five-year estimate of the deal's value from the original $300 million to $750 million, company officials announced.

The customer is using the purchase agreement to buy systems engineering and communications, infrastructure, security and life cycle support for members of the intelligence community.

"With the latest award on Sept. 22, we have far exceeded our original estimates," said Tim Sheahan, president of CSC's Enforcement, Security and Intelligence organization. "These awards reflect the confidence that our intelligence community clients have in our experience and ability to deliver results."
