Impact gets federal windfall

Federal agencies have recently sent more than $70 million in business to Impact Innovations Group LLC, an information technology outsourcing firm with offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Vienna, Va. and Columbia, Md.

Impact won four contracts, including a $38 million outsourcing agreement with the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

"The contracts were awarded because of the demonstrated effectiveness of our company's Washington-based federal team in developing and managing complex [information technology] projects for government agencies," said Jim Childs, Impact's chief executive officer.

The five-year defense contract is for applications development, network administration, help-desk operation and enterprise support for Armed Forces Radio and Television Services, the Defense Information School and the Joint Visual Information Services Distribution Agency.

The National Archives and Records Administration awarded Impact a five-year, $21 million contract to provide IT support for NARA's 3,800 workers in 36 facilities nationwide. Services include project management, full system lifecycle support, IT planning and support, operations management and operational support of NARA computer facilities, email administration, and all Web services and operations.

Impact also won two deals with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

One five-year, $8 million contract calls for operational and maintenance support services for FDIC's Release Management Program, including testing all software applications and ensuring compatibility with FDIC standards.

Impact also won a four-year, $4 million contract to support the FDIC's Internet and Intranet application development and eBusiness strategy initiatives. The company is a subcontractor under BearingPoint Inc. for that project.
