The Federal Aviation Administration will pay CSC up to $140 million to keep supporting the Traffic Management Advisory.
The Federal Aviation Administration has given Computer Sciences Corp. a task order that could be worth $140 million to continue supporting FAA's implementation of the Traffic Management Advisory (TMA) tool.
The traffic management tool is a key component of the FAA's Free Flight program. The tool lets air traffic controllers and traffic management specialists develop arrival-scheduling plans that can increase an airport's capacity by allowing early runway assignments for arriving aircraft.
CSC officials will provide software enhancements for the tool under the task order. The order also includes options to upgrade TMA hardware, deploy TMA to additional sites and customize software to meet the unique requirements of individual sites.
If FAA exercises all options over the seven-year task order period, the engagement will be worth about $140 million, CSC officials estimate.
