Styles joins D.C. law firm

Angela Styles, former administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), has returned to the Washington, D.C., law firm of Miller & Chevalier Chtd. as a member of the firm's government contracts practice.

Styles previously worked at the firm before going to the government. She worked first at the General Services Administration as special assistant to the associate administrator of the Office of Governmentwide Policy and to the commissioner of the Public Buildings Service. President Bush nominated her to take the OFPP position in March 2001.

Styles, who held the procurement policy post for two years, left last September with a mixed reputation. Asked to carry the burden of a controversial agenda, including competitive sourcing, she drew both praise and criticism.

Some of her opponents, notably National Treasury Employees Union President Colleen Kelley, said they saw her as open and accessible, even when there were strong disagreements on issues.
