Agent tracker to feel Impact

The Justice Department awarded a deal to Impact Innovations Group LLC to re-engineer an outdated system for registering and tracking foreign agents.

Impact Innovations officials will work with Justice's Criminal Division on the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) reporting and imaging system. The $555,000 contract is for a seven-month development period with three optional support years at $55,000 each, according to company officials.

Using their Open Text application, company officials will migrate Justice's system to a Web-based enterprise content management (ECM) system, providing single-point access to images and reports, company officials said. The FARA system will allow Justice officials to generate the required semiannual reports to Congress on the activities of foreign agents. The system will also support other FARA functions, such as the office that allows the public to view FARA records.

The company also recently won a deal with the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. to conduct on-site software testing and configuration. The contract includes two base-years, with three optional years worth up to $16.6 million.
