A new contract for service-disabled veterans is now open for bids. General Services Administration officials released the request for proposals for the Veterans Technology Services (Vets) governmentwide acquisition contract March 31.

The contract will run for a five-year base period and has one five-year option. The guaranteed minimum revenue for winning contractors is $2,500 and carries a $5 billion ceiling.

The contract complements a small-business set-aside program for veteran-owned businesses created last year. The program applies only to veterans whose disability is connected to their military service. The program’s goal is to award 3 percent of federal contracts to such businesses.

Bids for the GWAC are due by June 3.
