CapTech added to Intecs deal
CapTech's RFID software has been included on an Army blanket purchasing agreement held by Intecs.
CapTech Ventures said today that its radio frequency identification (RFID) software has been included on an Army blanket purchasing agreement held by Intecs International.
CapTech provides its TagsWare Software Toolkit, which is RFID integration software that supports tag readers from vendors such as ADT Security Services, Symbol Technologies, Applied Wireless ID (AWID), Alien Technology and SAMSys.
The BPA award for Intecs also includes the AWID MPR-2010BR fixed reader. The Army Contracting Agency’s Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center awarded the BPA.
Intecs recently joined CapTech's TagsWare reseller program as an integrator focusing on the federal market. Other federal integration partners include Masterkey, Sytex and Data Systems International.
"We are in discussions with several other partners and anticipate [announcing] these relationships over the next couple of months," a CapTech spokeswoman said.
The company's TagsWare RFID strategy is to partner with integrators "in order to deploy our software solution as broadly as possible within the federal space," she added.
CapTech launched its government practice two years ago, having previously concentrated on the commercial market. The company's government business accounted for 7 percent of total revenue last year. CapTech expects government to rank among its leading vertical markets within the next two years, according to the spokeswoman.
The company holds its own General Services Administration schedule, which provides IT management consulting and technical engineering services.
