Commerce awards $6.8M support contract to Apogen

The Commerce Department has awarded a $6.8 million contract to Apogen Technologies to provide consulting and programming support to the Census Bureau’s Technology Management Office.

The contract will make use of the company’s Blaise and computer-aided software engineering programming tools to develop computer-assisted interviewing systems, according to a statement Apogen released today. A variety of agencies will use the systems to conduct research.

Apogen has worked with the Census Bureau in the past, producing 30 task orders since 1999 worth more than $35 million.

“The Census Bureau conducts dozens of surveys each year for federal agencies in setting the tone of the U.S. economy,” said Tim Green, group vice president and general manager of Apogen’s Federal Civilian Division. “This contract strengthens our long-standing partnership with the Census Bureau in helping them retrieve this accurate and comprehensive data that is critical in analyzing U.S. demographics.”
