Large contractors need to give small biz more chances
Large prime contractors tend to let small businesses take on jobs the big guys won't make a lot of money doing, a reader says.
"Meet small-biz goals or face consequences, officials say" is right on target, except the bigger problem is that the large prime contractors only allow small businesses the small jobs they can't make any money doing. Agencies need to stop bundling services so small businesses can be prime contractors, too. Small 8(a) firms are different because they are allowed sole-source contracts that other small businesses are not allowed.
