Acquisition employees get recognition
Officials give awards for managing programs and protecting soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Office of Federal Procurement Policy has announced the winners of the 2008 Shine Initiative awards, a governmentwide recognition of work in the federal acquisition workforce.
This year's awards, announced Aug. 26, go to:
• The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Team at the Defense Contract Management Agency for its response to the improvised explosive device threats to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. The team sped up how long it took to develop, build and deliver 5,000 armored vehicles to those countries.
• Patrick Quigley at the Defense Logistics Agency for his performance in program management.
• LaTonya Richardson at the Treasury Department for her accomplishments in buying green products.
