Forest Service contracts for stimulus support
The Forest Service awarded a purchase agreement to Government Contract Solutions for support services related to the agency's stimulus spending and oversight.
The Agriculture Department's Forest Service awarded a blanket purchase agreement on April 10 to Government Contract Solutions for help in spending its money under the economic stimulus law, according to a Federal Business Opportunities notice.
GCS, a small, woman-owned business based in Vienna, Va., will back up the service's Economic Recovery Operations Center in Atlanta with contract specialists, grants and agreements specialists, and procurement technicians, according to the award notice and a company announcement.
The estimated value of the acquisition support services contract is $696,111 in fiscal 2009. The agreement lasts until April 2010, the notice states.
The service received $1.5 billion under the law. Agencies must spend the money quickly with more oversight and transparency. The Obama administration has said it want clear connections between where the money goes and what it yields.
