GSA awards SmartBUY contracts for geospatial tools
A new purchase award through the GSA’s SmartBUY program will give federal, state and local government agencies access to a suite of geospatial software tools.
A new purchase award through the General Services Administration’s SmartBUY program will give federal, state and local government agencies access to a suite of geospatial software tools that can be used for computer-aided design and Web-based visualization, GSA officials announced today.
The awards were made to Onix Networking Corp. for Google and CubeWerx software, Imager Software, Inc. for ISC MapDotNet software, Planet Associates Inc. for Planet Infrastructure Relationship Management software and Science Applications International Corp. for SAIC GeoRover software. The estimated contract value will be about $20 million.
Agencies can begin ordering the tools immediately on GSA Advantage or using GSA’s e-Buy system.
The geospatial tools include Global Positioning Systems, geographical information systems and remote sensing. The technologies can be used to map features on the surface of the Earth, GSA officials said.
This suite of software provides ability to perform computer-aided design, Web-based visualization, imagery analysis, geocoding, national and international road networks, and geospatial analytics and modeling.
GSA's SmartBUY program made the awards in collaboration with the Interior Department.
