The General Services Administration met its self-imposed year-end deadline to begin approving cloud providers.
The General Services Administration met its self-imposed deadline to begin certifying companies under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP, NextGov reports.
The first security certification for cloud services went to Autonomic Resources, a small business in North Carolina.
FedRAMP's purpose is to pre-approve cloud products and services for security so that agencies purchasing such offerings won't have to evaluate security case by case.
