GSA to update IT procurement web portal
Agency seeks better tools for site supporting Networx, WITS 3 and Connections II.
The General Services Administration is looking to update its secure Web portal workspace that federal IT managers tap to order from and organize their use of governmentwide telecommunications contracts.
The updated capabilities will allow managers and vendors to collaborate and exchange acquisition data for the Networx, Washington Interagency Telecommunications System (WITS) 3, and Connections II multiple-award telecommunications and networking services and solutions contracting vehicles, GSA said in a sources-sought notice posted Oct. 18 on FedBizOpps.
The Office of Integrated Technology Services at GSA's Federal Acquisition Service said the new hosting center will replace its current Network Services Programs Hosting Center, which provides information processing support for GSA's acquisition programs.
The new hosting center should support current capabilities, including providing and maintaining databases of contract pricing and inventory, vendor support databases and automated tools for preparing pre-award proposals or post-award contract modifications.
FAS wants to implement either a cloud-based or physically hosted managed service, with vendors providing the cloud-based implementation. Agency officials are also looking for vendors to develop or provide a price quote application accessible via the Web portal to support Networx, WITS 3 and Connections II.
The GSA notice specified that the updated Web portal should provide 24-hour access seven days a week and have 99.5 percent uptime.
