Federal pilot. Chvotkin knows the federal contracting landscape like an experienced ship's captain knows how to navigate a particularly difficult seaport. In 2013, he helped guide industry through the triple shoals of sequestration, debt ceiling and government shutdown. He sought to minimize the impact those activities might have on the federal IT community by setting up online resources for contractors and government agencies. He also incorporated security standards into acquisition planning and contract administration, with input from the General Services Administration, the Defense Department and the Department of Homeland Security.
