DHS names first task order 2 award under CDM
The first award went to Knowledge Consulting Group, which will implement tools and services from three vendors.
The Department of Homeland Security pushed out its first award under a second task order for its continuous diagnostic and mitigation program.
The first award under Phase 1, task order 2 of DHS CDM was to Knowledge Consulting Group, which as prime contractor will implement tools and services from three vendors.
Matt Brown, the firm’s vice president for homeland security, confirmed to FCW his company had been awarded a $29 million contract to implement Intel Security, ForeScout and Splunk solutions under the task order.
Task order 2 is CDM's next step, focusing on products and services for planning, management, training, architecture and engineering. DHS manages the government-wide cybersecurity program with support from the General Services Administration.
"This award is a crucial step toward maintaining the security of government systems and providing continual service to the American people, and for the protection of their personal information from attacks," Chris Hamm, director of GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, said in an emailed statement.
The latest task order award will harness Intel Security's McAfee vulnerability assessment and management tools, as well as end point security and compliance products, said Ken Kartsen, vice president of federal at Intel Security.
"This will provide the ability to go enterprise-wide" with the company's products, he said.
