NASA preps for SEWP switchover

The program office for NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement governmentwide acquisition contract is helping its federal customers prepare for the April 30 transition from SEWP IV to SEWP V.

By May 1, the program office said it will have transitioned its website, applications and internal processes to reflect the new contract.

The SEWP team also stressed that any quotes received from SEWP IV contract holders are valid only through April 30, when that contract expires. For an order to be valid after April 30, a new quote must be solicited from SEWP V contract holders and the order must be issued under the selected company’s SEWP V contract.

The program office posted answers to frequently asked questions online. In addition, the SEWP Customer Care staff is available at help@sewp.nasa.gov or 301-286-1478.

NASA announced the SEWP V awardees in mid-March.

GSA: More hallways on the way

The General Services Administration will open additional informational "hallways" for IT and telecommunication categories on its Acquisition Gateway by May, said Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of the agency's Office of Integrated Technology Services.

In an April 15 blog post, she wrote that the additions will cover telecommunications, IT security, IT consulting and IT outsourcing, as well as a few non-IT categories.

The agency created the Acquisition Gateway to help acquisition professionals learn, connect with each other and act on the information they glean. Content on the gateway is divided into product and service category hallways and resources.

Davie said the IT category already has two active hallways -- IT Hardware and IT Software. They provide pricing tools, sample statements of work, best practices and other relevant resources.

Washington Technology to host Commerce Department industry day

Washington Technology, an FCW sister publication that covers the federal IT contractor community, has launched a series of industry days. The first event, slated for May 28, will focus on the Commerce Department, where the Census Bureau, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and other component agencies are projected to spend a combined $2.3 billion on IT in fiscal 2016.
