Rising Star: Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith was recruited by the C2S Consulting Group in 2019 to lead the company’s cloud products and services business and was promoted to vice president after only six months. He has spearheaded the company’s efforts to capture new projects and clients in support of the intelligence community, the Defense Department and a range of civilian agencies.
In less than 18 months at C2SCG, Smith helped shift the firm’s focus to prime opportunities, paving the way to introduce automated cloud solutions to the government. Thanks to his efforts, pursuing prime opportunities accounted for 25% of the company’s total revenue in 2019, up from 2% in 2018.
In addition, Smith created internal programs to improve professional development and employee retention. One program helps employees identify new business ventures with current clients, giving them a chance to deepen relationships with existing customers. Another program focuses on establishing career mentors, clear goals and advancement paths for all team members. Employee retention has increased by 32% since his arrival.
Smith won C2SCG’s Star Award this year and is well positioned to build on an impressive first decade in federal IT leadership.
