Davis directs the operations and defense of DOD’s communications and computing systems, which is no small task.

During his tenure, he has dramatically improved the department’s information security, and his efforts have resulted in a 60 percent decrease in successful penetrations of DOD’s information systems.

“He has expertly led the department’s response to cyber threats and has brought about a culture of change and increased cyber awareness among DOD leadership, which has permeated to all DOD network users and significantly improved the defensive posture of the DOD’s Global Information Grid,” said Dave Wennergren, DOD’s deputy chief information officer.
