The chief executive officer of Costco nearly got up close and personal with members of the wholesale retail chain a few months ago, when a Google search for the local store in Seattle, Wa. returned his home address (map included) and phone number.

Mark Mattis, director of information security, compliance and infrastructure support at Costco did not elaborate on the source of the mishap during a discussion about cybersecurity at the Commerce Department's Symposium on Cybersecurity in the Commercial Space Tuesday, but did note that Google corrected the information by close of business the day it was discovered.
