If you're way into cybersecurity and are looking for a career change, a new online degree program aims to prepare you for the technical and policy aspects of fighting cyber threats.
USA Today reports that the University of Maryland University College is preparing to welcome its inaugural class of 1,200 students to its cybersecurity degree program this fall. According to the article, the program is geared toward older students, including those who already have jobs and can't necessarily go back to school full-time:
Because course work is to be delivered "completely online," a hefty percentage of the inaugural group of students is expected to be working professionals looking to change careers, says [Dr. Greg von Lehmen, UMUC's provost and chief academic officer]. A typical graduate student would take one six-credit hour course per term and earn a masters of science in cybersecurity or a masters of science in cybersecurity policy in two years.
