Federal 100: Gerald Ford
Gerald Ford
General Manager for Technology
Office of Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing
Transportation Security Administration
Homeland Security Department
Gerald Ford knows who’s who. Or at least he has made it possible, through sheer grit and determination, for TSA to know who’s who when people are boarding airplanes.
With few resources to help him and with a very limited budget, Ford took on a derelict Secure Flight program and personally developed the contract requirements, change control policies, technical team and other things needed to re-energize the project that handles TSA’s no-fly list. Secure Flight now matches more than 2 million names daily against the watch list.
Ford also applied his magic touch to the Consolidated Screening Gateway, which helps streamline threat assessment operations.
