DISA Dishes on Cyber Contractors
Here's what the Pentagon's Defense Information Systems Agency really thinks about cybersecurity contractors:
"What we don't love so much is once [you] get that foot in the door, we're pulled in and held hostage. Keep in mind the idea that as you win contracts and you get DoD business, don't look for windows to box us into technologies . . . look for ways to find the next best solution."
Mark Orndorff, DISA director of mission assurance and network operations, provided this advice to an audience of Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, or AFCEA, members at a ballroom in the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City. The topic of the afternoon's presentation was "Cybersecurity in Support of the IT Warfighter."
