The work: Spearheading the Navy's response to the WikiLeaks data breach and laying the foundation for new policies and procedures for handling sensitive national security information.

The impact: DelGrosso’s efforts resulted in a much greater awareness within the Navy about the growing risks of insider threats and unintentional breaches.

The nuts and bolts: DelGrosso led a 12-person group that reviewed all existing policy and procedures related to national security information and devised new protocols for preventing and, should it be necessary, responding to future breaches. The initiative has the potential to save the Navy millions of dollars a year in cleanup costs while protecting operations and national security.
