Lockheed Martin wins $496 million contract with Justice, U.S. Marshals

Lockheed Martin was selected to provide security and information technology services to the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and U.S. Marshals Service for a seven-year contract worth up to $496 million, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed.

Lockheed, the prime contractor, will buy equipment for the agencies, maintain desktop computers, manage servers and data centers, and secure the systems. Under the contract announced this week, Lockheed will also deliver cloud services.

The work will be done by Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Services-Civil division, which caters to non-defense U.S. government agencies, international governments and regulated commercial industries.

Lockheed’s IS&GS unit generated net sales of $9.4 billion in 2011, a fifth of the firm’s consolidated net sales, according to the firm’s 2011 annual report.
