Assad supporters play with Reuters comics

A Thomson Reuters Twitter feed apparently met with the ire of the Syrian Electronic Army, a pro-government hacking group.

The publishing company immediately suspended the account after the hacktivists allegedly breached the account the evening of 7/29/13.

“The attackers managed to tweet links to at least seven images, mostly pro-Assad political cartoons. BuzzFeed has captured all of them here, but they’re not exactly funny, so click cautiously.”

AllThingsD has a rundown of some past exploits attributed to the group, including attacks against the Twitter feeds of media companies CBS and the Guardian in April, and the Financial Times in May. It also attacked The Onion, prompting a predictable but funny response from that satirical news site, and later, an equally awesome disclosure of technical details on how the attack was carried out.”
