Asia’s Cyber Defenses Considered Weak

Alleged member of the Anonymous hacker collective infiltrated several government and commercial websites in the Philippines and Singapore recently.

“A rash of website hackings in the Asia-Pacific has exposed weak cyber defenses which must be improved to help the region deal with more sophisticated and sinister threats, particularly from criminal organizations,” analysts told AFP.

Most recently, hackers on 11/7 took over a section of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's official website – on day after he vowed to "spare no effort" to hunt down anyone who attacks the regional financial center's network.
