Federal 100: David Carroll
Name: David Carroll
Title: Chief Security Architect
Agency: Department of Homeland Security
Mobile master. Assembling a standard, secure mobile computing platform is hard enough, but putting one together in a year to serve the entire federal government could be a prescription for disaster. Carroll took it as a chance to shine. To meet the Digital Government Strategy's deadline for developing a mobile and wireless security baseline, Carroll did not create a new solution from scratch but instead tapped existing strategies. He worked with more than 21 government organizations to create a platform that has won the approval of DHS, the Justice Department, the Defense Department, the General Services Administration and other agencies.
