Car burglary results in Humana warning Atlanta residents about ID compromises
Healthcare and Public Health // Georgia, United States
Someone stole an unencrypted thumb drive and unencrypted laptop from the vehicle of a local employee with the healthcare company.
The breach could affect nearly 3,000 members in the Atlanta area.
The drive stored names, some medical record information and some Social Security numbers.
Humana said that it "has no reason to believe that the information has been used inappropriately." But the company will provide free access to a credit-monitoring service for the affected members.
