Maker of barefoot running shoes hit by e-tailer hack

The website provider for Vibram, which sells FiveFingers footwear, was the victim of a targeted hack, “allowing the attackers to help themselves to data,” CSO reports. “A five finger discount, if you'll pardon the pun.”

Customers who purchased merchandise online in June and early July might have had their credit card numbers compromised, according to an Aug. 6 breach notification letter. 

Crooks broke into the webserver of the hosting provider and installed malicious code.
