Hacked Brazilian Newspaper Website Tries to Break Into Your Home Router

The popular paper (politica.estadao.com.br) was compromised with rogue code that attempts to guess the password of the site visitor’s router.  

The exploit “is being used to identify the local IP address of your computer. It then starts guessing the router IP by passing it as a variable to another script,” or computer program instructions, Sucuri reports.

The easiest way to address an issue like this one is to change the default username-password configuration right after unpackaging the router.
