Personal Data of Silk Road Judge Allegedly Exposed
Government (U.S.)
The federal judge overseeing the Silk Road case against Ross Ulbricht has been subjected to death threats and apparently a privacy breach.
"Hidden Wiki," a website accessible only via Tor-equipped browsers, posted the slander. The same information is available on the open web through at least one site.
"Katherine Bolan Forrest is the judge who is unfairly ruining Ross Ulbricht's life and chance for a fair trial," wrote an editor on the underground wiki who goes by the name “ServingJustice.”
ServingJustice became angry at Forrest after July rulings that favored prosecutors.
The individual posted "dox" on Forrest, revealing a Social Security number, date of birth, and residential addresses allegedly associated with Forrest.
ServingJustice wrote: "I can also get information on all of this lady's relatives and maybe some of her close friends, so expect more releases over doxbin and this wiki," ServingJustice continued. "For right now just steal her identity and send her gifts in the mail ;) Expect phone numbers and relatives SSNs and complete doxes in a future release... Oh, and maybe someone should attempt a Swat just to put this bitch in her place."
Despite the warnings, nothing major has been added since the post went up in July. The page remained intact of Oct. 22.
