Hacktivists Strike Swedish Government after Pirate Bay Crackdown

To avenge the confiscation of servers running filesharing site Pirate Bay, hackers aligned with the Anonymous movement breached Swedish government email accounts.
International Business Times reports, “The Twitter account of Anonymous tweeted about the hacking of emails from Swedish government. The tweet shared a link which listed the emails hacked by Anonymous.”
The hacktivist group left a message to those affected on an online bulletin board: "Warning: Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to all!! Bye :*"
On Dec. 9, the Pirate Bay and several other torrent websites disappeared from the Web. The sites were taken down in a raid by Swedish police, which seized the servers, computers, and equipment of previously elusive Internet copyright infringers.
