Authorities found a fraudulently obtained item and a handwritten ledger listing personal information and credit card numbers for approximately 20 patients in the Florida health worker’s home, the Herald-Tribune reports.
Detectives were first tipped off to the problem while investigating unexplained fraudulent credit card cases. They discovered the victims' information had been stolen when the victims were receiving treatment at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center's emergency room.
Leslie McHugh, a registered nurse, allegedly used the card data to make online orders, which were shipped to her apartment.
Her employment at the hospital has been terminated.
