Equipment Containing Patient Data Taken from Kiddie Glasses Retailer

A desktop computer and other items were stolen from Children’s Eyewear Sight, according to Inland Empire Health Plan, which notified plan members of the breach at its provider.
The machine was password protected, but the data was not encrypted.
A suspect has been arrested.
A file on the computer included plan members’ name, date of birth, gender, address and contact phone number, email address, IEHP Member ID number, appointment date, date of purchase, and the name of the doctor who provided the optical prescription.
Some affected individuals were plan members’ children.
