Perhaps Hacked Taylor Swift Could Learn from Parody Alter Ego ‘@SwiftOnSecurity’

The pop starlet had her Twitter and Instagram accounts hacked, apparently by a fan of the merry hacktivist group Lizard Squad.

The irony is that cyber professionals already had been drawing inspiration and chuckles from her virtual doppelganger, the parody account “@SwiftOnSecurity.”

Somewhat of a mashup between cyber journalist Brian Krebs’s website (www.krebsonsecurity.com) and the at-times gooey lyricist’s online persona (@taylorswift13), InfoSec Swift tweets messages like, “The problems of security are human. It is people. Humans cannot be upgraded. Humans are not machines. That is their blessing and curse.”

In real life, on Tuesday afternoon, her legit profile began tweeting  to more than 51 million admirers that they should follow someone who alleges to be the "leader" of Lizard Squad — a hacking group ostensibly behind the account takeover.

The fake tweets were deleted within about 15 minutes.

Swift's Instagram account was broken into shortly thereafter, with a photo imploring her fans to follow someone associated with the earlier Twitter hack.

The hackers claimed to have purloined nude photos of Swift, which they would release in exchange for Bitcoin.

“Chances are good these intrusions are not high-tech hacks. A number of major Twitter users have fallen victim to phishing attacks over the past few years, eventually leading Twitter — after much outcry — to implement two-factor security,” according to the Verge.

Swift tweeted this comeback after regaining control of her account:

She also shook off claims that the hackers have nude photos:
